Responsibilities and Rights

Nova Dental´s patients have responsibilities and rights. Here you will learn about them. Please read this information carefully. In case of any doubt or emergency, just give us a call, email or Whatsapp. We are more than willing to help you.

Los pacientes de la clínica Nova Dental tienen responsabilidades y derechos. Por favor lea la siguiente información cuidadosamente. En caso de cualquier duda o emergencia, solo llámenos o envíenos un correo o mensaje Whatsapp y con gusto le atenderemos.

PATIENTS RESPONSABILITIES

To be actively responsible for your own health.
To use the premises and health services correctly, according to the standards of use.
To be sure that all financial obligations related to your healthcare are paid in a timely manner.
To follow instructions and indications that the healthcare personnel provide for your care.
To be courteous with personnel, patients, family members and companions.
To provide all details regarding your physical conditions and health in a truthful manner, especially when necessary for reasons of public interest or emergency.
To be responsible for your own decisions regarding your health, record and sign them in writing if necessary. If you decide to leave the hospital prior to completing treatment, sign a Leaving Against Medical Advice Form.

PATIENTS’ RIGHTS

To receive adequate medical attention.
To receive courteous and respectful treatment.
To receive information in a clear, timely and truthful manner.
To decide freely about where or how to receive healthcare.
To grant or withhold Informed Consent.
To be a treated with confidentiality.
A second medical opinion.
To receive medical attention in case of emergency.
To have a personal medical record.
Right to be heard if not satisfied with attention received.

RESPONSABILIDADES DEL PACIENTE

Responsabilizarse de su propia salud de una forma active.
Usar correctamente las instalaciones y servicios de salud conforme a las normas generales de utilización.
Asegurarse de que las obligaciones financieras asociadas con el cuidado de su salud se cumplan a tiempo.
Cumplir todas las instrucciones e indicaciones que le brinde en forma adecuada el personal de salud.
Mantener el respeto debido al personal y a los otros pacientes, familiares y acompañantes.
Facilitar los datos sobre su estado físico o sobre su salud de manera leal y verdadera, asi como el de colaborar en su obtención, especialmente cuando sean necesarios por razones de interés publico o con motivo de asistencia medica.
Asumir las propias decisiones sobre su salud, dejar constancia por escrito de estas y firmar el documento de alta voluntaria.

Post Operative Instructions

We care about our patients and we believe in making sure they have more than enough information to be able to take all the necessary precautions in order to make my procedures feel seamless. That is the reason why we have come up with a list of post-operative instructions to help you take appropriate care of your new implants.

Please read below and pay special attention to our advice and suggestions:

Do not disturb the area of surgery

Allowing the tissues to rest undisturbed assists the healing process. Avoid vigorous chewing, excessive spitting, or aggressive rinsing. If you routinely use a Water Pik, avoid doing so during the healing phase. Initial healing may be delayed, active bleeding restarted, or infection introduced.

Expect minor bleeding or oozing

If bleeding persists, continue pressure on a fresh sponge for an additional 30 minutes to an hour. Biting on a moist teabag wrapped in gauze may help control persistent oozing from the surgical site. Tea contains tannic acid, which helps promote blood clotting.

Firm pressure for 15-30 minutes usually controls the problem.

If you check too frequently, (every few minutes), the blood clot will not form properly and bleeding will continue. Should active bleeding persist, Please call the office or page the doctor.

Limit Physical Activity

During the first 24-48 hours after surgery. Over exertion may lead to postoperative bleeding and discomfort. When you lie down keep your head elevated on a pillow. You may wish to place a towel on your pillowcase to avoid staining from any blood-tainted saliva.

Pain Following Oral Surgery

Will be most severe within the first 6-8 hours after the operation. Please do not drink alcoholic beverages while taking prescription medication. Do not wait for the pain to become unbearable before using some form of pain medication, as then it will be more difficult to control. Moderate to severe pain usually does not last longer than 48 hours. And mild discomfort usually diminishes after the third day. Please contact us if you experience prolonged severe pain so that we can help make you more comfortable.
